Mail is stored and served from Helsinki, Finland, by a company based in Denmark. Nothing is copied to a US cloud to power the inbox.
How it works
PostStack webmail runs at poststack.dev/mail; mail.poststack.dev leads there, so it is the one address to give people. A mailbox user signs in with the full email address and the mailbox password — the same one their phone or desktop mail app uses — and the sign-in opens exactly that mailbox.
It is a separate session from the PostStack dashboard: it cannot reach API keys, billing, domains, or any other mailbox, and changing the mailbox password signs out every browser that was using it.
The inbox shows conversations grouped as threads, with messages sorted under Today, Yesterday, and earlier headings, and a toolbar that says what each button does (Reply, Forward, Archive, Delete, Mark unread, Star). Search runs on the mail server, across the whole folder rather than just the messages on screen. Attachments can be downloaded and added to new messages, replies, and forwards. The message list can be widened by dragging, and keyboard users get Gmail-style shortcuts (j/k to move, r reply, a reply all, f forward, e archive, c compose). New mail is pushed to the open page over a live connection, so it appears within seconds without polling.
Everything is stored in standard IMAP folders on Dovecot, which is why the same mailbox works in any mail app and why read, flagged, and moved state is identical everywhere. Incoming mail is filtered by Rspamd before it reaches the inbox, and messages scored as spam are filed into the Spam folder. Each message is displayed in a sandbox that cannot run scripts or read the page around it, and links open in a new tab.
Mailboxes cost €1 per month each on any paid plan, including 1 GB of storage that can be raised up to 50 GB.

Does my colleague need a PostStack account?
No. They only need the mailbox address and its password. The PostStack account stays with whoever manages your domains and billing.
What is the web address?
mail.poststack.dev. It takes you to poststack.dev/mail, where you sign in with your full email address and mailbox password.
What happens if someone forgets their password?
Whoever manages your PostStack account sets a new one on the mailbox page. That also signs the old password out of every browser.
Can I keep using Outlook or Apple Mail as well?
Yes. Webmail and mail apps read the same mailbox over IMAP, so a message read, moved, or deleted in one is read, moved, or deleted in the other.
Can I read my old t-online or GMX address here too?
Yes. Connect up to five other accounts to a mailbox and switch between them in the same inbox. See connected accounts for how it works.
